Traffic Intern
The Traffic Intern works alongside the Design Engineer and under the direction of a Project Manager and is responsible for day-to-day project work producing technical deliverables for traffic and transportation engineering projects. Responsibilities
Establish and monitor adherence to project schedule and budget. Provide all necessary coordination and follow-up on the work to ensure quality standards are met, efficiency levels are maintained and client satisfaction, respect and confidence are assured. Assist in the development of traffic control device design plans, including traffic signal, signing, pavement marking, lighting and ITS plans. Create clear, concise technical reports and high quality drawings, primarily using AutoCAD. Perform field duties outside of the office in support of projects, including traffic data collection and field verifications of existing and proposed traffic control device installations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Working toward a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Emphasis in Traffic Engineering, Planning, and Highway Design courses are a plus. 0-2 years' experience in in traffic/transportation engineering. Engineer-In-Training (EIT) preferred. Technical knowledge in traffic engineering with proven experience in preparing technical reports, designs, specifications, and computations. Traffic Signal design and signal timing experience. Working knowledge of relevant software packages including, Synchro, HCS, Microstation, Corsim, VISSIM is a plus. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project. Familiar with AutoCAD. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Independent and critical thinking abilities. Self-starter who can work independently and with team members. What We Offer
