Rockford Center Nurse Staff Coordinator

Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland. Position Summary: A Nurse Staff Coordinator is responsible for managing the scheduling and staffing of nursing personnel to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operation of healthcare facilities. This role involves coordinating with various departments, handling staffing requests, and maintaining accurate records of staff assignments and availability. Responsibilities: Schedule nursing unit staff. Determine and ensure appropriate unit staffing ratio. Adhere to nursing FTE standards and manage daily reporting in Excel according to Hospital policy, reporting to CEO/CNO. Accurately communicate nurse Managers/House Supervisor regarding staff, cues and acuity levels. Collect and compute staffing statistics on a daily basis by utilizing Shift Hound software, exporting data into Excel reporting, and communicating statistics to Nurse Leaders (Attendance, tardiness, and meal alerts). Monitor and deliver information for infection control to employee health coordinator. Carry out clerical and administrative assignments to support department operation, which includes the following: Monitor and update Position Control, update FTE status and Units worked in a redesigned Staffing Grid located in Excel, exporting statistics from Kronos in order to monitor staff attendance and punctuality all completed daily. Report hospital staffing totals twice a day to Hospital Leaders, in order to identify current staffing ratios designed to manage patient admissions. Identify unit duties of all Nursing Staff in order to report hours worked for payroll. This is a daily function found in the Punch Detail reporting generated from Kronos. Meet with Staff Educator in order to appropriately ensure adequate preceptor utilization specific to new hires. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Requirements: High School Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or similar previous experience with adults in a behavioral health setting preferred. Strong communication skills, excellent customer service and organization skills, highly effective listening skills, and strong clinical skills. Two (2) years of related experience in Behavioral Health and 2+ years Staffing Coordinator experience preferred. CPR certification and completion of Handle with Care training during orientation process. Proficient in UKG, KRONOS and Microsoft Office Suite.
