Studio Coach, Cornell Tech (NYC)

Cornell Tech's Studio is the signature differentiator of the eight master's degree programs at Cornell Tech. All 400+ of Cornell Tech's master's students participate in a practically oriented, multi-disciplinary, team-based curriculum, corresponding to eight credits across two semesters. In the Studio, students work in multi-program teams to learn and practice user-driven tech industry development processes, creating prototypes of digital-enabled products and services. Students engage with end-users, companies, nonprofits, and government agencies in creating prototypes of digitally enabled solutions to real-world challenges, getting vital feedback and ideas from fellow students as well as faculty and practitioners from the NYC tech community, via a variety of formats, including workshops, lectures, crits, sprints, and more. Position Summary
The Studio Coach supports the execution of Cornell Tech's Studio program, working with the Studio team (both faculty and staff) to ensure students learn how to build digitally-enabled products and services that matter. The Studio Coach reports to the Director of Studio Programming and takes academic direction from the Chief Practice Officer and studio faculty. The Studio Coach position begins August 4, 2025, and concludes on December 19, 2025. The position is at 75% effort (30 hours per week) and is not eligible for benefits. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Pay rate: $30 per hour. This position requires work on evenings and weekends, particularly during the academic year. This position will be primarily in person on Cornell Tech's Roosevelt Island campus in New York City 2-3 days per week; individuals must be located in the United States throughout the appointment period. Coaches will be required to be present for all Studio academic activities, including classes, recitations, workshops, and Maker Days. Responsibilities
The Studio Coach has the following responsibilities. (The percentage breakdown will vary over the course of the semester.) Curriculum preparation and quality assurance (10%) Collaborate with instructors to ensure curriculum in Canvas has all necessary relevant information, and is well-organized and up to date Support development of newly created content, including conducting research, case writing, and planning workshops Coaching (40%) Provide office hours to students and teams Provide guidance and feedback to students aligned with faculty instruction Report to faculty and staff on student feedback and progress Grading (20%) Assess student progress, assign grades, and provide written feedback on class deliverables in accordance with faculty instruction Incorporate feedback about class deliverables into coaching and mentoring Facilitation of workshops (30%) Lead and support workshops and recitations in accordance with faculty instruction Prepare materials and coordinate room logistics with the Studio team Monitor and record attendance and participation by students Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in a business or technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with a focus on entrepreneurship. Experience creating and developing digitally-enabled products and services. Strong organizational skills and significant experience in program execution. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and relationship building qualities; ability to coach and give feedback to people while maintaining a positive and productive rapport. Proven ability to work in a team context, as well as the ability to be effective when working independently. Demonstrated computer skills and experience with standard desktop tools, including Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365, Slack, Airtable, and Zoom. Highest standards of integrity to develop trust with current students, faculty, staff, partners, and employers. Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from Cornell Tech. Experience with Canvas or other learning management systems.
