The Managing Senior Counsel

Retail works in a dynamic and collegial team of attorneys and contract managers. This position provides support for NCR Voyix's Retail line of business, globally. Responsibilities will include advising executive management on industry legal issues; drafting and negotiating contracts; developing contract templates; building a trusted advisor relationship with the business teams; and identifying preventative measures to avoid legal risks, conflicts and issues relevant to the businesses supported. To be considered, you must have a JD from a well-regarded university with a minimum of 10 years' legal experience in commercial/transactional law, with at least five years in the technology sector, with strong general business law knowledge. Key Areas of Responsibility: Advise executive management with respect to industry legal issues, and serve as a subject matter expert for the Law Department in these areas; Negotiate, draft and review sales, services, licensing, SaaS, interface and related agreements worldwide, either individually or working with other contract professionals or specialist attorneys; Assist in evaluating potential acquisitions in the retail space, and support integration of acquired businesses; Exercise judgment in advising business clients on contract interpretation and other matters; Provide issue-focused legal guidance to contract managers on an escalation basis; Work with others internally such as marketing, product management, product development, pricing, and finance, along with legal subject matter experts in-house and externally, to develop legal approaches and programs to support new business initiatives; Develop and revise standard template agreements for use by the contract managers and business clients for a broad range of NCR Voyix's offerings; Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of NCR Voyix's products, procedures, processes and policies; Participate in Law Department activities including development of best practices and special projects; Analyze and interpret law, rulings and regulations that affect the business and provide practical advice in response; Provide internal training on relevant legal issues; and Coordinate with outside counsel. Requirements: Graduate of a well-regarded law school; Minimum of 10 years' legal experience in commercial/transactional law, with at least five years in the technology sector

ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house experience, but attorneys with only law firm experience will be considered; Knowledge of commercial contract laws and practices within the retail industry; Familiarity with privacy law and cybersecurity matters, and how those areas interface with retail businesses; Excellent communication skills with ability to negotiate at high levels; Strong writing skills and attention to detail; Ability to work under short deadlines and outside normal working hours with minimal advance notice and minimal supervision; self-sufficient and independent; Conceptual thinking in complex/completely new situations and ability to communicate ideas both internally and externally; May require limited domestic and international travel; and Confidence in client- and customer-facing situations, presenting a positive and professional image; excellent interpersonal skills.
