Polk County (OR) is offering an entry-level technical support position in the Engineering Department for the County. This role involves basic engineering technician work related to the analysis, location, design, construction, and inspection of public works projects. The position also includes reviewing, revising, approving, and inspecting permits for compliance with County standards. Additional duties include assisting with collecting and maintaining GIS data, project staking, permit tracking, traffic and infrastructure data collection, and other technical duties throughout all phases of project development. Work schedule: Monday - Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Minimum qualifications: Two (2) years of college coursework in engineering, engineering technology, or related technical field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge and abilities. Special qualifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver's license and automobile insurance. Current CESCL certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire) is preferred.
