Job Location: Monterey, CA Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $24.60 - $25.50 Hourly Job Shift: Day Job Description
The Engineer II will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms, restaurant, pool, administrative offices and all other public areas of the property. Team member will be able to provide all functions of Engineer 1 as well as advanced problem solving and trouble shooting. The essential job functions of this job are: Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms. Monitor and maintain all engineering functions when full engineering staff is not available (i.e. weekends and evenings). Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner. Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities. Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order. Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas. Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings and maintain log to notify the next shift. Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased. Handle elevator breakdowns. Assists with major projects as assigned. Required to write notes to other staff members and make logbook entries. Support safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times, Familiarized with SDS regulations. Other duties and jobs may be assigned as needed by supervisor. Have strong inter-personal skills and enjoy working in a team-environment and building great relationships with their coworkers. Have the ability to perform various physical tasks during the work shift; strong and quick problem-solving ability. Have strong communication skills, written and verbal. Possess excellent technical, conceptual, and financial skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends and holidays based upon company needs. Additional responsibilities: Knowledge of the entire hotel safety procedures, equipment, and protective wear to ensure the safety and security of our guests and employees. Qualifications
Educational / Certification / License Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Valid California Driver License - Required Professional Certifications
Preferred Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work. Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Efficient using a voltmeter and Measuring tape. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized and non-standardized situations. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Must have a desire for learning and personal growth. Must be able to work independently. Previous Experience Required: 2 years' experience in the hotel maintenance field.
