Administrative Supervisor

The Administrative Supervisor is responsible for the clinical supervision of patient care and represents hospital management on the assigned shift to ensure the delivery of quality patient care. Exposure to communicable diseases, blood and blood products, illness, confused and/or combative patients, hazardous chemicals, stressful situations, x-rays and fluoroscopy, sharp instruments and needles, electricity. Includes standing, walking, lifting patients, pushing wheelchairs, recliner chairs, beds, stretchers. Occasionally must stoop, reach above head, carry medium to light equipment. Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer Contacts: Administrators, Physicians, Department Heads, Hospital Staff, Patients, Families and Visitors. Supervises: All members of Nursing Staff on Assigned Shift Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Baccalaureate degree preferred, Masters preferred. Experience: At least five years clinical experience, including at least one year supervisory experience. Licensure/Qualifications: Current license to practice professional nursing in NJ. CPR certification as per Hospital policy; IV certification as per Hospital policy. ACLS required, (or within 6 months of employment). Certification in Nursing Administration preferred.
