CDM Smith currently has a new opportunity for a Client Service Leader within our North Transportation Group to lead our Pennsylvania/New York/New Jersey transit practice. In this position, you will work with a dynamic team to continue building our transportation business. You will lead the development of a business strategy for the increase of sales with our existing clients and developing new clients across the greater Philadelphia and New York City region. This will include all aspects of transit planning, design, construction management and program management services. This position leads the business development activities, oversees overall client service, represent CDM Smith on transportation related boards or organizations, and serve as a leader in your office and throughout the organization. *** This position can be based out of our Philadelphia or Wayne, PA offices*** Responsibilities: Plan and implement new business strategies in the Pennsylvania/New York/New Jersey transportation market while maintaining the relationships with decision makers and senior leaders with the current CDM Smith client base. Specific focus on SEPTA, NJ Transit, MTA and PANYNJ with emphasis on full-service delivery of planning, engineering, and CEI services. Lead effective sales activities including identifying clients within the PA/NY/NJ market and effectively working with other members of the sales team to develop winning pursuit strategies, proposals and presentations. Developing and managing client teams that include project managers, technical specialists, national leaders, as well as junior staff to develop strategic capture plans, proposal efforts, presentations, and other efforts of business development. Collaborate with the transportation leadership team to achieve annual revenue and profitability objectives. Implement procedures to improve client satisfaction and opportunities for repeat business though excellent execution, teaching, coaching, and implementation of "lessons learned". Serving as a key member of our strategy team promoting growth in the Pennsylvania/New York/New Jersey area as well as supporting other North Group growth initiatives. Serve as a technical or project lead as needed on projects of significant size and strategic importance. Be active in professional societies in which clients or potential clients are members. Be a strong leader internally and externally. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
Professional engineering (PE) license.
12 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience managing and/or winning transportation projects with SEPTA, MTA, PANYNJ, and/or PennDOT Central Office, strongly preferred.
Previous experience in business development, assisting with the proposal process and presenting/meeting with transit clients, strongly preferred.
Ability to demonstrate established relationships within the regional transportation and transit community.
