Room Inspector Position
The experienced Room Inspector inspects the cleaning of guest rooms to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction by performing the following duties. Inspect the cleaning of guest rooms to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Work with and train room attendants to ensure daily tasks are completed timely and accurately. Inspect housekeeping carts and closets to ensure that they are properly stocked. Work with house person to maintain cleanliness of public areas through the hotel to ensure cleanliness. Maintain cleanliness of hotel hallways, stairwells and elevators. Support room attendants by cleaning and stripping guest rooms as needed. Communicate with the Front Office staff of any housekeeping delays or issues and make necessary changes to room status. Fill out work order tickets as needed and ensure unacceptable rooms are not released back to inventory until items are addressed. Perform open and closing procedures for the Housekeeping department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper and/or Housekeeping Supervisor. Provides support to Executive Housekeeper to ensure that guest satisfaction scores meet or exceed brand standards. Be willing to clean rooms, do laundry or houseman duties in the event of a contingency. Assist with linen inventories Performs any other duties as requested by supervisor. Be an outgoing and welcoming personality for the Hotel. Use logical thinking and personal judgment to perform a variety of office tasks that require special skills and knowledge. Make decisions based on your own judgment and company policy. Follow instructions without supervision. Speak and write clearly and accurately. Be available for work during days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Lifting 30 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and small tools. Walking, standing, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing are required. Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. A job is considered "inside" if the worker spends approximately 75% or more of the time inside. Trains and supervises full-time, part-time and/or temporary workers.
