The Apple Silicon GPU Compiler Driver team needs engineers to design and develop production quality Metal compilers and drivers for present and future products. We collaborate with engineers across Apple to design future generations of the Metal shading language, API and GPU hardware used for 3D rendering, machine learning, spatial computing, and computational photography. You will apply your knowledge of computer graphics, general-purpose computing, or compilers to implement high performance software that drives Apple-designed GPUs. You will build expert-level Metal knowledge to guide developers in tuning their next generation Metal applications for maximum performance on Apple products. Minimum Qualifications

Understanding of the graphics, compute, or compilation pipelines Programming knowledge of C/C++ GPU programming with Metal, DirectX, Vulkan, CUDA, Direct Compute, OpenGL, or OpenCL Carry forward highly complex software debug efforts Excellent written and oral communication skills to clearly and concisely explain analytical outcomes and technical roadblocks across multiple audiences Technical/Engineering BS, MS, PhD or equivalent industry experience Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of operating systems, computer architecture, and compiler fundamentals Familiarity with LLVM IR, ray tracing, or machine learning is a plus Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
