Unified Communications (UC) Engineer

Candidates with proven depth creating solutions with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, VoIP, secure mobility, and collaboration will succeed in our organization. The selected candidate will design, build and deploy, and administer large scale voice networks and support multiple dispersed WAN connected sites. Engineers will be responsible for supporting their solutions throughout the IT project lifecycle, including requirements analysis, product integration, network baselining, development of IT roadmaps, and operations and maintenance support for a critical high visibility customer space. Responsibilities: Designs and defines system architecture for Cisco based voice infrastructure and end-points Identifies and resolves technical problems related to the VoIP infrastructure Maintain the existing Cisco VoIP environment consisting of Cisco Unified Communications Manager and various customer devices Architecting solutions within the Cisco family of products that may include: CUCM, IM and Presence, Unity, Meeting Servers, Expressway, Meeting Management, Jabber client Migration of existing TDM solutions leveraging Session Border Controller technology Develop and document SOPs for engineers and end-users Collaborate with voice providers from other Government agencies and commercial partners Review completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements Make recommendations to management and/or clients Required Skills: Current CCNP Required Experience with Cisco Unified Call Manager / Cisco Meeting Server Experience with Cisco Jabber Experience with Cisco Telepresence Management Suite and Cisco Expressways is desired Experience with the configuration of voice end-point hardware Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as Jira System configuration based on security guidelines such as DISA STIGs CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience US Citizenship Required Work location is on-site in the Metro DC area (no telework or remote) GDIT IS YOUR PLACE: 401K with company match Comprehensive health and wellness packages Internal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career Professional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications Cutting-edge technology you can learn from Rest and recharge with paid vacation and holidays The likely salary range for this position is $170,000 - $230,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
