The ASPCA's Community Medicine (CM) team provides expert veterinary care to support the welfare of animals and their people through our stationary and mobile veterinary clinics, serving the most underserved communities in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. We help pet owners overcome barriers to care, bringing quality services directly to the communities that need us most and partially or fully subsidizing the cost of basic and preventive care. CM treats people and pets with dignity and respect, assisting pet owners in making informed decisions about their pets' health and wellbeing regardless of their financial circumstances. Lead a fast-paced and dynamic nonprofit Mobile Veterinary Services (MVS) program. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and staff compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. Friday, 8-hour schedule with flexibility to work occasionally beyond the scheduled workday, including early mornings. Work is in-person at various locations, including the logistics hub in Paramount and Mobile Clinic locations throughout the greater Los Angeles Area. Occasional flexibility in reporting to other ASPCA locations is required based on operational needs Occasional travel outside CA (5% or less) may be required Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Culture & People Leadership (50%): Lead a team of managers overseeing four key functions: client experience, logistics, medicine and nursing Support a culture of respect, belonging and teamwork through regular 1:1s, recognition, supervision, developmental coaching, performance evaluation and fun Partner with the Regional Management Team to provide clear and seamless leadership for the Veterinary and Medical Managers

ensure mobile clinics are staffed, functioning, and filled to capacity Support your team in working through day-to-day obstacles inherent in mobile programs to minimize disruption of services

e.g. unplanned absences, vehicle malfunctions - that may arise during early AM hours Problem-solve: identify root causes and course-correct to overcome obstacles Maintain a safe and healthy workplace for all staff, clients and animals: oversee safety protocols and ensure 100% compliance with all OSHA regulations and ASPCA safety guidelines, support a culture of safety and injury/incident awareness and prevention Monitor inclement weather and emergency events that may impact MVS operations; prepare and execute plans to prioritize safety Ensure Fear Free certifications are obtained by all staff and gentle animal handling is practiced consistently with animals in care to minimize fear, anxiety and stress Oversee financial & administrative health of the MVS program, including medical records entry, cash management, expenses, payroll and operational efficiency Partner with colleagues in Safety, Facilities and Legal to ensure a safe, secure and squeaky-clean environment on mobile units, Paramount Field Lot and all MVS work locations Oversee coordination of repairs and routine maintenance for CM's Los Angeles fleet of mobile veterinary clinics Work effectively with inter-agency partners

e.g. other animal welfare groups or municipal animal services agencies

to achieve ASPCA priorities in the region Oversee the development and monthly publication of the MVS schedule, prioritizing areas of greatest need Represent the ASPCA and CM's work to internal and external partners as needed

provide tours for donors, other department representatives, etc. Qualifications: Ability to manage direct reports in multiple locations Highly motivated self-starter with ability to lead a large and complex operation while remaining close to front-line operations and supporting both strategic and tactical needs Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to synthesize information and communicate key messages Proven history of building and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Excellent time management skills Flexibility to respond to shifting priorities and an ability to communicate these clearly to others Readily able to work with animals who are behaviorally and/or medically compromised, support staff in humane euthanasia situations California Veterinary Technician license a plus Must have a Commercial Driver's License, or the ability to obtain one within the first six months of hire and pass a motor vehicle history check demonstrating a safe driving history. As part of the driving requirements of this role, must also pass a Department of Transportation Medical Exam and required Drug and Alcohol Testing. Must be willing and comfortable learning to drive Mobile Clinics, which are up to 37 feet long, through city traffic (training provided by ASPCA) within the first 6 months of hire.
