We have an outstanding Contract position for an Inventory Management Contractor to join a leading Company located in the Melbourne, FL surrounding area.**US Citizenship is required.**Job Responsibilities: Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary. Within parameters, determines routing and arrangements for shipments, considering such factors as the nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost. Consults rate schedule for specific rates depending on method of shipment and/or distance shipped. Assesses the most economical and efficient common or contract carrier, to transport shipments. Calculates and records storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges. May reroute urgent shipments of an urgent nature or arrange for special delivery at destination. Prepares and maintains records of products shipped and tracks shipments. Receives incoming materials, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications. Maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents. Stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. Lifts heavy items and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts, etc. upon receipt of internal certification. Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements. May perform wood shop functions such as operating power saws and nail guns in building skids and crates.Basic Hiring CriteriaRequires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 to 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. Candidate should have extensive knowledge of receiving practices and Transportation knowledge for setting up and processing both Domestic and International shipments.Developing support for individual contributors.Works under general supervision.Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures.Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.Works under general supervision.Less detailed instructions are provided and moderate peer review is required.Communicates with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach an agreement.Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures.Follows established processes to complete tasks. Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations. Escalates issues to the supervisor for resolution.Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has some impact on the overall achievement of results for the team.
