Are you a skilled Paint Prepper with a passion for quality and detail? We're looking for a reliable, hard-working professional to join our busy and growing auto body shop!

What You'll Do: • Sand, mask, and tape vehicles with precision to ensure paint quality • Clean and degrease surfaces to remove contaminants before painting • Mix and apply primer, sealers, and other undercoats as required • Inspect surfaces for imperfections and correct them before painting • Work with body technicians to ensure repairs are completed before prep • Move vehicles in and out of the prep area safely and efficiently • Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and prep areas regularly • Ensure all prep work meets shop standards and customer expectations • Follow all safety procedures and use PPE correctly at all times • Communicate clearly with painters and management to meet deadlines • Assist with other shop duties as needed during slower prep periods

What We're Looking For: • Minimum [2+] years of experience in paint prep (auto body industry) • Strong attention to detail and pride in your work • Familiarity with tools and materials used in the prep process • Team player with a positive attitude • Reliable and punctual

Requirements



Minimum 2 years of experience

in auto body paint prep •

Strong knowledge

of sanding, masking, priming, and surface preparation techniques •

Ability to identify imperfections

and correct surface issues before paint application •

Familiarity with prep tools and materials , including DA sanders, hand tools, and masking products •

Understanding of paint systems

(basecoat/clearcoat, single-stage, etc.) •

Ability to read and follow repair orders

and instructions accurately •

Strong attention to detail

and commitment to high-quality work •

Dependable and punctual

with a solid work ethic •

Physically capable

of standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift •

Valid driver's license

and clean driving record (if moving vehicles is required) •

Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment •

Knowledge of safety procedures and PPE use

in a paint/prep area

Salary Description

$60,000 - $120,000 / year
