Title: Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Reports to: CFO Location: Hybrid in Atlanta preferred; Hybrid in Austin or Miami considered; remote potentially considered About the Role: As Director of FP&A at CharterUP, you will lead the company's budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis efforts. This high-impact role requires a mix of financial expertise, business acumen, and leadership capabilities. You will partner closely with senior leadership to drive data-informed decisions, manage company-wide financial planning processes, and deliver key insights that shape our long-term strategic vision. You will also play a critical role in scaling financial infrastructure and evolving the FP&A function. What You'll Do: Own the financial planning cycle, including annual budgets, quarterly re-forecasts, long-term plan Act as a strategic advisor to the executive team, providing insights and analysis that drive company performance and growth Present financial results to the board, potential investors, and executive team, with a focus on key business drivers and actionable insights Quarterback materials and process for future fundraises and target acquisitions Cross-Functional Business Partnering: Collaborate with business leaders across Sales, Marketing, Service Operations, Tech, and People to align financial goals with business objectives Drive financial decision-making support for major company initiatives, including new market entry and product development Drive process improvements across org to drive Net Revenue, Repeat Business, and EBITDA Champion automation leveraging AI Team & Process Management: Lead and develop a high-performing FP&A function, ensuring operational excellence and career development. Design and implement scalable planning tools, financial models, and reporting systems that drive company objectives Reporting & Performance Analysis: Own the monthly and quarterly financial reporting and KPI dashboards for leadership and investors Analyze financial performance, including revenue trends, cost drivers, and profitability metrics, to identify areas of improvement Highlight material insights and recommend corrective action What You'll Bring: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a quantitative field (math, computer science, physics) from top academic institution 2 years pre-MBA in investment banking in M&A / industry coverage group with multiple live-deal assignments or 2 years in management consulting with meaningful project experience Multiple years at a high growth, successful tech startup leading FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance Expert experience in financial modeling, budget planning, and driving to completion investor-grade presentations Exposure to BI tools such as tableau and ability to learn intermediate SQL and python Experience influencing C-suite and board-level stakeholders Track record of leadership, including mentoring and training junior team-members in modeling and presentation skills Recruiting Process: Step 1 - Talent Acquisition interview Step 2 - Wonderlic Step 3 - Interview with Finance Director Step 4 - Financial Modeling exercise and live presentation to CFO, Finance Director Step 5 - Interview with President (20 minutes cultural and any remaining questions) Step 6 - Offer & reference check Welcome aboard!
