Position Overview: We are currently seeking a seasoned Data Scientist to support a range of cross-functional initiatives, including custom product development, data integrity efforts, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) integration, and CADRG production support. This role will be centered around designing and implementing automation strategies to streamline operational workflows, improve digital data transfers, and enhance the delivery of GEOINT products across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities: This role will act as a technical lead in the automation of workflows spanning multiple functional areas, the optimization of digital data movement, and the modernization of production pipelines. Prior experience with DoD, IC, or NGA-specific systems is required. Minimum Requirements: Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph eligibility At least 10 years of relevant experience (a combination of professional experience, certifications, or formal training may be considered in place of a degree) Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with graduate-level coursework Expert-level proficiency in Python and other languages suited for automation development Proven background in designing and deploying workflow automation systems Advanced experience with geospatial ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines Strong expertise in API design and integration of disparate enterprise systems Demonstrated success in implementing automation at the enterprise level Familiarity with NGA's Foundation GEOINT data products, formats, and distribution methods Experience with database architecture, performance tuning, and deployment Hands-on knowledge of systems used for digital media creation and automated content distribution Ability to assess existing workflows and develop streamlined technical solutions Working knowledge of DLA systems and tools, including MEBS and WebFLIS Strong grasp of data validation protocols and quality control techniques Experience with automation for geospatial data transformation and distribution Proficiency in ArcGIS, GEODEC, and ACCORD software platforms Understanding of cartographic standards for CADRG/ECRG product development Strong analytical mindset for pinpointing inefficiencies and implementing improvements Experience writing technical documentation, including SOPs, CONOPS, and system design documents Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in automation tools or programming languages Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD implementation Knowledge of cloud-based automation in federal environments Experience applying machine learning to optimize GEOINT workflows Proficiency in data visualization and analytics for performance tracking Understanding of NGA's enterprise systems and integration framework Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools Awareness of secure coding practices and cybersecurity fundamentals Track record supporting digital transformation initiatives Background mentoring junior personnel on automation workflows and standards Experience with Agile development processes Understanding of human-centered design principles applied to workflow improvement
