Secretary Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Secretary to join our clinical laboratory team. In this role, you will perform a variety of administrative tasks that are critical to the needs of the department. What You'll Do Transcribes from Dragon Speech Recognition or types from handwritten draft all Anatomic Pathology reports Coordinates records maintenance of the unit Collates and completes monthly Anatomic Pathology coverage schedule Handles sending out and receipt of various materials Screens incoming calls, answers routine questions and/or refers individual to appropriate party Prepares quality assurance reports Qualifications
What You'll Bring Required: Graduation from an accredited program in secretarial studies. Two (2) years of full-time secretarial experience required preferably in a histology or cytology laboratory. An additional year of experience is required in lieu of the secretarial program. College credits may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for secretarial experience. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Must have basic computer skills, including strong word processing skills to be able to type anatomic pathology reports from handwritten drafts. Must be able to transcribe pathology dictation.
