Principal Program Quality Engineer

Join our Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) Sustainment Mission Assurance team as a Principal Program Quality Engineer working with cutting edge technology. The Principal Program Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the Sustainment program as well as conducting remote site audits as needed. This role requires supporting the program and ensuring products are returned to the customer meet specified technical requirements. You will provide expertise between the organization and both internal/external customers to ensure their requirements and expectations are satisfied. The selected team member will act as the voice of the customer to autonomously assure mission results and success. This is an onsite position located in Plano, TX. What You Will Do: Implement and perform Mission/Quality Assurance leader responsibilities as a member of a program team or Integrated Product Team (IPT) including Quality Systems Assurance, Supplier Quality, and Hardware Quality. Review and provide quality support and updates on purchase orders including Statement of Work, quality notes, revisions, and other items as applicable. Regularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and Navy Tech Reps. Primary quality representative for assigned value streams or processes, working with minimal oversight from manager. Operate in a dynamic environment that requires prioritization and flexibility to support competing requirements. Responsible for resolving critical issues/situations ensuring they are handled correctly and within current policy/procedure guidelines. Facilitate and lead cross-functional team in failure analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, including identifying non-conformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure. Implement projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving. Coordinate, prepare, manage and respond to Quality Deficiency Reports. Lead Material Review Board (MRB), and support Failure Review Board (FRB), working with cross-functional teams to disposition nonconformances and lead root-cause investigation, corrective and preventive actions. Application of knowledge of Government Quality Requirements and Standards including aerospace, commercial, defense, and space industries. Lead, nurture, and mentor others in routine work and difficult situations. Work closely with program team members in a lab environment. Provide regular program status reports to management. Qualification You Must Have: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of engineering experience. Working and auditing experience with a Quality Management System (ISO 9001 and/or AS9100). Working experience with drawings/specs and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Experience leading Nonconforming Material Review Boards and supporting Failure Review Boards (MRB/FRB). Experience with leading root cause corrective action (RCCA) and applying quality methodology and tools. Must have an existing U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain additional program access as required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer: Quality background and/or ASQ certification Experience providing area/program direction to assure quality tasking is accomplished within budget, on time, and as defined in planning. Experience with developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for proposals. Experience with factory systems and software (e.g., PRISM, SAP, and Windchill). Working experience with J-Std-001/IPC-A-610. Working experience with First Article Inspections per AS9102. Core Apprentice Certification or equivalent. American Society for Quality (ASQ), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Quality Manager. Certified and/or formal ISO9001 and/or AS9100 lead auditor training. Working experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint. Experience communicating in a written and verbal format and presenting program information to key stakeholders.
