2nd Shift Production Reliability Supervisor
Position Summary The Engineering - Production Reliability Supervisor oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality through Preventative Maintenance (PM) as well as cost efficiency; assists the Engineering - Production Reliability Manager with development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process; supervises the work of assigned manufacturing Engineers and Mechanics. Responsibilities and Essential Duties Supervises all operations maintenance and reliability activities to optimize equipment uptime, safety, and environmental performance. Submits justification for equipment and assist in the development of support documentation for projects. Maintains the PM software to ensure equipment maintenance and PMs are properly performed and documented. Supervises and inspects repair and maintenance work to ensure the most effective, efficient, and up-to-date maintenance and repair technology and practices are used in a safe and professional manner. Monitors operations and make recommendations to improve efficiency. Implements maintenance best practices and processes including, but not limited to, effective planning and scheduling, complete with KPI tracking; technician precision maintenance training and application of skills; reliability efforts in lubrication, vibration, root cause analysis. Supervises crews to ensure efficient utilization of manpower and contractors. Reviews optimization plans and determines product impact of changes on manufacturing lines. Works with Commercialization to design equipment modifications based on product and packaging types. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to, Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) (ensuring machinery is off before performing maintenance or repair), hot work, confined spaces work, use of powered industrial machines, etc. Completes other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager. Qualifications Technical Skills Required Possesses critical thinking skills and maintains an enthusiastic and positive approach toward employees and the job function. Ability to communicate with technical specialists and to interpret technical/blueprint drawings and specification documents. Possesses a sufficient degree of mathematics and engineering skills. Ability to lead a multi-discipline team both as a supervisor and in a technical capacity. Strong organization and communication skills with the proven ability to motivate and manage a team. Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully; is constantly and consistently one of the top performers; very bottom-line oriented; steadfastly pushes self and others for results. Experience Required Degree in mechanical/electrical engineering preferred, or extensive applicable experience in a related role. Significant industrial maintenance experience required. Ability to operate effectively in the use of business tools including computers, e-mail, and applicable software applications. Physical Requirements Regularly sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to sit, balance, climb, stand, bend, squat, squeeze, kneel, turn, crouch, and stoop repeatedly. Physically able to lift 75 pounds and manipulate up to a 500-pound drum on a regular basis. Frequent exposure to varying temperatures, loud noises, heavy machinery, fumes, airborne particles, electrical, chemicals, and moving parts. Prolonged use of computer screen.
