Lift Station Mechanic Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/equivalent, GED or vocational/technical training in mechanical, piping, wastewater pumping systems repair, and maintenance. Supplemented by one (1) year of previous experience including repair and maintenance of wastewater pumping systems. Two (2) years of closely related mechanical and plumbing work experience in a non-water utility industry will be evaluated and considered in substitution of water utilities industry experience. Must have and maintain a current Wastewater Collections C or higher Certification. Must have Class B commercial driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment or be able to obtain within six (6) months of employment. Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment. Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment. In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
