Payment Specialist III
This is an onsite role in our Virginia Beach Campus, 3637 Sentara Way Virginia Beach, VA 23452. Responsibilities
Process and post specialized funds accurately and efficiently which may include monthly mortgage payments, payoffs, bankruptcy funds, claim funds, foreclosure, and loss mitigation funds Review, decision, and process exception payments/funds as required. (Lockbox, Ebox, Third-Party funds, Wires, Overnights, Suspense funds, etc) Research complex payment discrepancies and unidentified payments and resolve escalated issues related to payments Monitor various daily reports, processing all applicable funds Review and process workflow queues ensuring completion of requests Research and resolve outstanding items in clearing accounts Run MSP scripts and/or mass trans as needed Collaborate with other departments as needed to ensure accurate payment processing Balance daily transactions for end of day processing to ensure data accuracy Deposit checks into bank clearing accounts as needed Escalate critical or significant issues, or unusual circumstances, to leadership and follow through to resolution Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies All other duties as assigned Qualifications
Associates Degree or 3+ years of experience in mortgages/accounting/finance/banking 3+ years of experience in mortgage operations Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
specifically Excel and Outlook Ability to manage time and priorities wisely and adapt to frequently changing processes and procedures Ability to work in a high-volume and time-sensitive environment Ability to work independently with minimal direction and effectively meet deadlines Ability to work collaboratively with peers in a team environment to attain common goals Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, and by telephone with all levels of the organization Ability to maintain strict confidentiality Desired Skills and Qualifications 2+ years of data entry Essential Functions Basic job duties an employee must be able to perform with, or without, reasonable accommodation.
