This position is responsible for providing patient care and assists health care providers in performing assigned patient procedures within scope of training. Position receives general supervision from RN, APN, PA, or Physician in providing patient care. Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective communication and flow of information throughout the department. Order supplies and trouble shoot supply issues as needed. Responsible for stocking and maintaining supplies in patient care areas. Troubleshoot and escalate supply chain issues as needed. Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting patient care areas and equipment. Manages all clinical waste to ensure it is disposed of properly. Performs basic prescribed standard non-invasive cardiovascular procedures in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Ensures an accurate and readable recording using deductive reasoning to trouble shoot minor problems, adjust as needed during the procedure and prepares recordings for interpretation. Transports or assist with transporting monitored and non-monitored patients within the facility. Assists with patient handling and lifting. Performs specimen collection and patient preparation, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and specimen integrity by using appropriate techniques as required. Aliquots and labels specimens according to established departmental procedures and practices, delivers specimens to the technical area in a timely manner and/or performs initial processing and preparation of samples for transport. Transport of patient specimens and/or patients, per guidelines. Promotes continuity of care by recognizing and reporting abnormalities and/or changes in patient's health status and responses to treatment. Assists Emerg Tech Educator with orientation and training of staff and students. Participates on assigned committees and teams. Additional tasks as assigned within scope or competency. Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Current C.N.A. license in state of practice OR EMT-1 national certification or higher required. Requires the knowledge normally demonstrated with a minimum of One (1) year of relevant work experience. BLS certification required. FHP sponsored Phlebotomy required within twelve (12) months of hire/transfer. Preceptor certification required within six (6) months of hire/transfer. Must have good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, independent practitioners, patients and other contacts. Requires the ability to be attentive to details and to adhere to strict safety requirements for handling infectious agents. Prior experience/training in non-invasive cardiology procedures Additional related education and/or experience preferred
