Our US Collectibles team is looking to hire a Director of Buyer Activation who will be responsible for accelerating growth of our users and transactions. This role reports directly to the GM of US Collectibles and sits on the US Collectibles leadership team. They are responsible for growing our collectibles buyer base and transactions by increasing community, loyalty and traffic among prospective customers. This position is responsible for leading a team of direct reports, partnering with other functions, and managing external agencies. Our preferred locations are Portland OR, Salt Lake City UT, Austin TX, in addition to remote locations. Occasional travel is required to eBay offices, industry events, major customers, and other locations as needed. Responsibilities Use deep analytics to report performance drivers and develop actionable insights (e.g. customer segmentation, buyer CSAT/loyalty drivers, initiative performance) Define our buyer-facing strategy, annual buyer growth goals and the key execution initiatives (aka Big Rocks) that will drive those outcomes Collaborate with internal marketing partners and external agencies to grow brand equity, user acquisition and buyer retention (e.g. strategy, creatives, messaging, channels) Directly lead the online merchandizing team, which includes onsite campaigns, coupons, and other seasonal activations Partner with internal product teams and external providers to develop and launch successful features and services for our collectors Work with our events team to build eBay's community presence by expanding enthusiast outreach at key industry events and shows Lead analysis of market performance, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to assess growth opportunities and site enhancements Drive key buyer funnel KPIs and measurable business outcomes (e.g. traffic, bought items, new buyers, buyer satisfaction) Skills Executive communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to simplify complex concepts and influence leaders with well-structured rationales and narratives A willingness to 'be the customer' and engage directly with users to understand their needs Data-driven approach to decision-making and execution, including the ability to work directly with financial analysts to structure analysis and explain data Experience collaborating across a complex matrix organization and the different functions needed to successfully develop and launch projects Highly organized, detailed problem solver who enjoys being efficient and using data to crack tough problems Strong personal ambition and desire to grow professionally, including a willingness to learn, adapt, and provide feedback to direct reports, peer teams, and upward management Experience BA/BS required, post-graduate degree (e.g. MBA) preferred 6-10+ years of direct experience within a marketing division of a consumer brand or working with marketing agencies that support consumer services 6-10+ years conducting deep consumer research and analysis to drive business insights 6-10+ years leading teams, ideally within matrix orgs (eBay, global brands) 6-10+ years within collectibles or a similar consumer industry (e.g. sports, games, toys) Strategic approach and ability to lead through influence The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below: $158,800 - $236,000 Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
