Functional Area Supervisor

Weyerhaeuser Company is searching for a Functional Area Supervisor for the Arcadia Oriented Strand Board (OSB) facility in Simsboro, Louisiana. Arcadia OSB is located in the Sportsman's Paradise of Lincoln Parish in north central Louisiana. It is situated near Ruston and Grambling, Louisiana, home to Louisiana Tech and Grambling State Universities. The mill is located 20 minutes west of Ruston, 45 minutes west of Monroe, 55 minutes east of Shreveport, and an hour south of the Louisiana/Arkansas state line. This is a salaried (exempt) first-line supervisory position reporting to the Operations Manager. The Functional Area Supervisor is responsible for the safety, production, and quality goals of a functional area in an OSB manufacturing facility. The position must be committed to leading continuous improvement in safety, reliability, cost management, process improvement, production flows, contingent staffing, and housekeeping. Key Functions

Responsible for providing daily leadership and oversight of an area within an OSB manufacturing facility Ensure the safe and efficient execution of work Ensure proper job and safety rules are understood and followed by all associates Role model safe work practices and lead safety and other team meetings Ensure that appropriate incident investigation and follow-up takes place if safety or environmental incidents occur Meet production standards and goals Actively be involved in assigning work and evaluating job performance Support cross training initiatives to increase talent depth Support, coach, and provide timely feedback and direction to associates Manage downtime events Understand the process flow, have the ability to positively impact reliability, and provide pro-active solutions to issues Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required Minimum of two (2) years supervisory, lead or management experience Strong leadership skills that include a proven ability to coach employees to a higher level of performance Excellent people skills with a result-oriented focus required Pro-active with the ability to work with minimum supervision A team player who can effectively work with department managers and the Technical Director to achieve production & quality goals Good planning, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities a must Strong written and verbal communication skills Participate in safety initiatives, including exhibiting safe work practices and helping others work safely Must be computer literate with experience in Microsoft program suite. Must be willing to work a rotating shift, to include weekends and holidays. Must upload a resume with application. The following qualifications are preferred but not required: Bachelor's degree in a Science or Engineering field. Leadership/management experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment Knowledge of the OSB manufacturing process. Application and knowledge of LEAN manufacturing tools. This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $68,400 to $102,600 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target. Benefits

Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary. Paid Time Off or Vacation

We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
