Multimedia Reporter - (Contractor- Per Piece) Deadline to apply: 06/25/2025 PRIMARY FUNCTION The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking a Multimedia Reporter to provide MBN digital platforms with clear and concise writing, video, and audio content. This position location is required for (specific state). ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Multimedia Reporter is a storyteller responsible for gathering and verifying information through interviews, observations, organizes all material, determines the emphasis and writes stories to fit the standard formats. The incumbent will produce content for MBN's digital platforms, as requested, including but not limited to video reports, articles, digital stories, photographs, features, and live or taped interviews. The Multimedia Reporter will stay in regular contact consistently with the appropriate editors or otherwise designated personnel, ensures all work complies with MBN's Journalistic Code of Ethics, and will cultivate and maintain credible news sources with a wide variety of expertise and perspective. SPECIFIC DUTIES Produce per-piece content rooted in investigative journalism, public policy, and original insight relevant to MENA and U.S. affairs. Deliver work that includes interviews with key figures, analysis of primary sources, data-driven reports, and visual breakdowns. Pitch timely story ideas with strong editorial value aligned with MBN's priorities. Collaborate with editors to align reporting with audience needs and platform formats (e.g., text story with embedded video, data visualization, or social adaptation). OTHER DUTIES Perform additional job-related duties and take on new responsibilities as needed based on organizational requirements and circumstances. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS At least a bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field A minimum of 2 years professional experience Expertise in shooting and editing compelling online video packages. Strong news judgment, high energy, and self-motivation. Fluency in Arabic and sound English communications skills. Competency in modern journalism tools including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. An understanding of Middle East and international current events. Proven track record in investigative journalism, data journalism, or policy analysis. Familiarity with government institutions, think tanks, and policymaking in Washington, D.C. (for DC) Demonstrated ability to distill complex topics into engaging and accessible storytelling. Strong research skills and ability to use data, documents, and open-source tools in reporting. Ability to produce complete packages independently, from concept to delivery. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. Knowledge of Arabic culture is highly desirable. Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under stress with accuracy and balance. Knowledge of current International and US events. Ability to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 news environment. Ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
