Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for leading, supporting, and directing the receiving, shipping, and material handling operations at the King's Hawaiian Bakery manufacturing facility. Other duties include serving as the Warehouse Foreman while demonstrating the ability to perform analytical thinking to solve complex situations while ensuring optimal shipping of products and timely delivery of all customer orders. Job Requirements: Maintain warehouse operations by supporting, coordinating, and enforcing programs, policies, and procedures to ensure product availability and excellent customer service. Support and ensure compliance with all employee quality programs including HACCP and SQF requirements, continuous improvement initiatives and food safety programs. Manage and coordinate the outbound shipping schedule and allocation to storage facilities and customers for all four warehouse teams. Maintain and support a good working relationship with internal and external customers, as well as the supply chain, production schedulers, and the transportation team. Train all new transportation Logistics Coordinators on how to plan, create, and execute the "Outbound Shipment Schedule" and help them understand the "work rules, and exceptions" needed in attaining a cohesive schedule for all groups and customers. Achieve operational objectives by identifying obstacles, gathering information, recognizing and/or supporting possible solutions, developing and executing action plans, and reviewing execution to ensure sustained success. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing safety standards and procedures by conducting weekly safety meetings, audits, and entering work orders for any safety related items as needed. Support and aide the Warehouse Manager to meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; and assist in preparing and managing an annual budget; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions by evaluating and implementing initiatives to decrease costs while maintaining/increasing service levels. Develop warehouse operations systems by developing processes for shipping and receiving, equipment, and storage utilization by analyzing process workflow, labor, space requirements, and equipment layout. Aid in the weekly warehouse cycle count of all raw, and package materials reporting any shortage or overage of inventory to the Cycle Counter and Warehouse Material Manager as well as assist in root cause investigation for any variances. Ensure finished goods inventory are shipped, placed on hold, or damaged for lot tracking. Review and identify talent to meet staffing needs by interviewing, hiring, and evaluating new shipping and receiving personnel. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring candidates, lead, and create the work schedule for one team of foremen and shipping and receiving personnel as well as planning, assigning, directing work, providing necessary training and meeting monthly with direct reports to evaluate performance, set goals and monitor progress toward goals and provide ongoing feedback in a timely manner. Other responsibilities include succession planning within the department, developing employee skills and experiences, and rewarding/ disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving personnel issues. Qualifications: To perform this job efficiently, an individual needs to perform each duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities. Skills/Experience: Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum of two years manufacturing supervisory experience. Shipping and receiving experience preferred. SAP experience preferred. Food manufacturing experience preferred. Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, and negotiation skills. Key leadership competencies in addition to Ethics/Values and Integrity/Trust, (Proactive, Directing Others, Priority Setting, Decision quality, Organizing, Process Management). Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, SOPs, quality, and warehouse procedures or manuals written in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspond in English. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees. Spanish comprehension is a plus. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Will maintain CPR and AED certification (Company will provide periodic recertification training). Forklift driver and trainer certification a plus (Company will provide periodic recertification training). CDL licenses a plus. Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, handle, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Will require use of equipment, small portable equipment, and manual tools. Duties may require occasional operation of a motor vehicle or travel to another state on behalf of the company.
