Information Security Specialist Officer (ISSO)
CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for an Information Security Specialist Officer (ISSO) within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. You must have a passion for keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology advancements and leveraging your knowledge on a highly collaborative team to deliver state-of-the-art capabilities. You will be responsible for protecting the organization's information assets by developing, implementing, and maintaining security measures. This includes monitoring networks, investigating security breaches, implementing security protocols, and educating employees on security best practices. In essence, your responsibilities will include ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and availability by safeguarding digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. This position is located in our Washington DC office. Your future duties and responsibilities: Monitoring and Investigation: Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, investigate incidents, and analyze security breaches to determine the root cause and impact. Security Implementation: Implement security measures like firewalls, data encryption, and intrusion detection systems to protect sensitive information. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Assess system vulnerabilities, identify potential risks, and develop and implement strategies to mitigate those risks. Policy Development and Enforcement: Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices. Security Awareness Training: Educate employees on security best practices, promote a culture of security awareness, and provide training on security tools and procedures. Incident Response: Respond to security breaches and incidents, coordinating with other teams to contain the incident and restore normal operations. Vulnerability Management: Identify and address vulnerabilities in systems and applications, ensuring that systems are patched and configurations are secure. Compliance: Ensure that the organization complies with relevant security regulations and standards or industry-specific regulations. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Experience: Shall possess a minimum 8 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years. Education: In addition, shall possess a Masters degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or have Bachelors degree related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 2 years of related senior experience, for a total of 10 years, as a substitute to the Masters degree. Security Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly Required: Security+ certification Highly Desired: Excellent oral and written communication skills, experience with DIA security and authority to operate processes and tools Leadership: Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, security protocols, and security tools. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze security events, identify vulnerabilities, and develop effective solutions. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot security issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions. Knowledge of Security Frameworks: Familiarity with security frameworks like NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001. Compensation range for this role in the U.S. is $115,800.00 - $222,960.00.
