As a Consultant, Business Effectiveness, you will be responsible for assisting with the oversight of the Private, Personal & Digital Banking (PP&D) line of business. You will work closely with PP&D teams to ensure effective oversight of limits and metrics management within the framework, processes, policies, and procedures, as well as assist lines of business with adhering to limits, metrics, and risk management principles. In coordination with the various business leaders within PP&D, determine appropriate metrics and limits for proper oversight of the business. In coordination with various business leaders within PP&D, manage the Segment Risk Statement (SRS) metrics throughout the year, including reporting on breaches and related action plans. Lead annual limit and SRS refresh process for PP&D. In coordination with Credit Risk Management and the head of Consumer Lending, participate in the US Region portfolio limits for credit concentration annual limit refresh for retail/consumer credit. Monitor SRS quarterly, working closely with Business Effectiveness team resources providing data. Participate in quarterly metric and risk meetings presented by the Governance and Control team. Execute on risk identification management throughout the year. Propose new limits and metrics as necessary. Participate in special projects as needed. Demonstrate a thorough understanding and extensive knowledge of data analysis, metric management, oversight, and portfolio management principles with large financial institutions or consulting firms. Five or more years of experience in bank portfolio management through limits, metrics, and procedures. Experience in Bank Operations and Credit or Credit Risk is strongly preferred. Commercial credit background is a plus. Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or other business-related discipline. Experience in conducting operational risk oversight. Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills as you will work closely with line of business and executive management as well as members of both first and second lines of defense functions (i.e. Enterprise Risk, Consumer Risk, Credit Risk). Ability to develop effective recommendations for mitigating identified limit and metric breaches and assisting the lines of business with remediation. Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with all levels. Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Data analysis and visualization skills using Excel or other analysis software. Project management experience is a plus. At CIBC, your goals are a priority.
