Full-Time Nanny And Family Assistant
A truly lovely family in Cole Valley, CA is seeking a full-time nanny and family assistant to help care for their three children, ages 6, 4, and 2. This position starts as soon as they find the right candidate, but ideally by the beginning of September. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday, 7 am-9 am, and 2 pm-8 pm, for 40 hours per week guaranteed. They do ask for some flexibility for late-night coverage one day per week that might end at 10 pm, for occasional travel, and Fridays typically end early at 6 pm. The family is looking for the right candidate, and is open to live-in or live-out, and is open to local candidates, and will help with relocation for the right candidate who meets all the criteria. The family also has a house in Calistoga and tries to spend as much time there as possible, including several weeks in the summer, and occasional weekends. Someone open to helping with those trips is a huge plus! Responsibilities
Childcare Help the kids get ready for school, including getting dressed and brushing their teeth Prepare and serve breakfast Pack school lunches Assist with morning routines and ensure a smooth transition out the door Drive or walk the children to school (transportation can be provided if needed) Pick up kids from school and take them to activities Plan fun, engaging, and age-appropriate afternoon activities Prepare and serve dinner for the kids Assist with the evening routine, including bath, bedtime prep, and tidying up. Maintain structure and implement household routines Maintain discipline and ensure household rules are followed Family Assistant Manage kids' laundry: sorting, washing, folding, and putting clothes away correctly. Grocery shopping and running household errands (e.g., returning packages, buying birthday presents, dropping off dry cleaning) Lightchild-related household chores and tidying. Basic meal prep and organization (does not need to be a serious chef, but must be comfortable making simple, healthy meals for kids) Stay on top of household needs, including making grocery lists, ordering essentials (Amazon, etc.), and keeping common areas organized. Handle dishes properly (understanding what goes in the dishwasher vs. hand-washing) Manage kids' wardrobe, purchasing additional items as needed Initiative to proactively see what needs to be done and do it Qualifications
Warm, patient, and dependable Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a busy household Requirements
Must drive (own car preferred but not required; they can provide if needed, but street parking is very tough in Cole Valley) High energy and experience working with young children Experience with siblings is a plus Good English communication skills are required; French is a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in a busy household, communication is often via email and text) Tech savvy and able to use Apple/Google shared calendars and other household management apps is a plus Detail-oriented, especially with laundry and tidying (sorting clothes correctly, putting things in the right places, implementing and following household systems) Open to occasional travel with the family, including international (passport required) and local (Napa Valley) Strong references and prior experience in a similar role Ability to swim and be confident in the water with children Infant/child CPR and First-Aid certified, or willing to certify Must be Trustline registered or willing to register Valid passport Legal to work in the US Salary And Benefits
