Job Overview
Responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing biochemical and/or chemical processing equipment, instruments, piping, structures, and environmental systems required to produce purified amino acids or related components. Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma, GED or equivalent with 1 to 2 years' experience working with industrial mechanical equipment is required. Associates degree or Technical Trade School training is preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to effectively communicate and follow written or verbal instructions. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and troubleshoot equipment and instruments. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, fabrication equipment, rotating machinery, and use of a computer. Knowledge and understanding of forklifts and personnel lifts. Ability to cooperate and support a team-oriented work environment. Ability to make independent decisions concerning the return to service of production equipment. Ability to multi-task to reduce process down time. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position may perform activities in an environment that contains hazardous elements and requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members. All safety procedures, procedures described in SOPs, BPRs, and support the compliance of applicable ISO standards in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Position requires the ability to stand for a minimum of 3-6 hours per day; sit, walk, bend over and reach above head at a minimum of 2 hours per day; minimal lifting or carrying of 50 pounds occasionally. Responsibilities
Maintain, and repair all plant mechanical equipment, controls, and environmental systems in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), cGMPs and written instructions
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on process equipment and plant
Safely and accurately use electrical measurement and test equipment Utilize equipment such as forklifts, tractors, backhoes, man lifts, and scissor lifts as needed. Effectively utilize technical manuals and drawings to monitor and troubleshoot assets
Properly and accurately record maintenance activities in accordance with cGMP requirements using work orders, computer systems and departmental logbooks, where appropriate
Recognize and assess any unusual equipment conditions to include, but not limited to, appearance, sound, vibration, ultrasound, and odors
Periodically review SOPs as new procedures and revisions are published
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional job site, shop area, and tool inventory
Collaborate with other members of the production and maintenance team to ensure product safety and minimize environmental impact
