We are seeking a highly organized Patient Appointment Scheduler with a strong commitment to patient care. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Patient Appointment Scheduler to join our team and support our mission. Essential Duties
Greet patients and schedule patient appointments efficiently, considering physician availability and patient preferences. Handle inbound calls and inquiries from patients regarding appointments and general inquiries with professionalism and empathy. Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all necessary information is collected and updated in the system. Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information. Verify patient insurance coverage and communicate any relevant information to patients regarding coverage and payment responsibilities. Request office visit authorizations for HMO policies and recording information in the patients' chart. Work closely with medical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and resolve scheduling conflicts effectively. Provide appointment reminders to patients via phone, email, or SMS to minimize no-shows and optimize clinic efficiency. Address patient concerns and complaints promptly and escalate complex issues to the appropriate personnel when necessary. Maintain operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes. Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned by management. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional certification in medical office administration or related field is a plus. Proven experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in appointment scheduling or customer service role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Empathetic and compassionate demeanor, with the ability to handle sensitive patient situations with care and professionalism. Proficiency in using scheduling software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in patient records and scheduling. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed. Benefits

The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb stairs. The employee should be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs. The work environment is typically quiet to moderate with standard office noise levels.
