Senior Network Engineer And Architect

SRC is searching for a well-rounded Senior Network Engineer and Architect to design and plan Information Technology (IT) networks and architecture, security implementation, network performance monitoring, troubleshooting and support, and scalability and capacity planning for IT requirements for United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) command and control facilities. Manages several projects simultaneously from design to implementation and provide installation oversight at a new facility by engaging with functional area managers (FAMs) and other engineers. Work supporting USSPACECOM will be conducted at the government's facilities in Colorado Springs, CO. Responsibilities: Develops detailed network design plans for the data center, ensuring they meet DoD requirements and standards Creates network diagrams, schematics, and documentation for the data center infrastructure Oversees the installation and configuration of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment Ensures all network components are correctly set up and optimized for performance and security Implements DoD-approved security protocols and measures within the data center network Configures firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security appliances to protect the network from threats Monitors network performance to identify and resolve issues, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime Uses network monitoring tools to track bandwidth usage, latency, and other key performance indicators Provides technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues within the data center Works with other IT teams to diagnose and resolve complex network problems Conducts capacity planning to ensure the network can handle current and future data center demands Designs scalable network solutions that can grow with the organization's needs Requirements: 10+ years of experience administering and engineering Multi-Vendor Networks (e.g. Juniper/JUNOS devices and Cisco Devices) At least 7 years of hands-on professional experience as Network Architect & Network Lead of similar in size and scope 5 years of experience as Network Architect & Network Lead supporting a DOD program of similar in size and scope 3+ years of network design experience with load balancing and high availability systems Experience required with planning, design and implementation of networked systems, to include configuration management, upgrades and troubleshooting of network issues Master's level degree in an Engineering, Computer Science, or IT related field OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or IT related field and additional five years of experience in Engineering, Computer Science or IT related field Active Juniper Network Certified Professional (JNCIP) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification Possess IAT/IAM Level II or greater Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to track, recommend, and implement resolutions to issues Ability to build good relationships with peers, business partners, and clients Desired Skills: Fundamental understanding of Nutanix-based hardware and network virtualization Experience with web application architectures and their required ports and protocols Cloud technologies, AWS GovCloud, PostgreSQL Databases Experience with network analysis applications (e.g. Sniffer, Wireshark, Microsoft Network Monitor) Experience with network security hardware such as Cisco ASA, Barracuda NextGen Firewall, SonicWall TZ, Splunk, SolarWinds Log - Event Manager, Bro Network Security Monitor Experience with performing engineering services to support accreditation for software running on Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) Must be able to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team. Experience installing, configuring and testing various network devices 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Visio for network architecture design Clearance Information: SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT.
