Sterile Processing Technician Opportunity

Located on 23 hillside acres at 2375 E. Prater Way in Sparks, Nevada, this hospital is a 124-bed acute care facility. We have a full-time opportunity for a Sterile Processing Technician at 40 hours per week, offering full benefits and a convenient afternoon/evening schedule. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of instrumentation, supplies, and equipment following established infection control practices. You will also initiate case carts for surgical services. Must be conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital. Able to accept new ideas and learn position duties. Participates in the department's performance improvement activities. Job Duties: Interacts professionally with patients and family. Provides patient with explanations and verbal reassurance, as necessary. Notifies appropriate licensed personnel when patient complains of pain. Adapts procedures to meet individual needs of infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients for treatment. Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment for each individual surgical/pain procedure, or all anticipated endoscopes, instruments, supplies, and equipment of each individual GI Lab procedure. Qualifications Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent. Minimum of one (1) year experience as Central Service Technician. Obtains national certification within 18 months of hire into the department.
