Second Baptist School University-Model (SBSUM) is currently seeking (in an ongoing manner)

PART-TIME CAMPUS FLOATERS

for the 2024-2025 school year. This role serves in a variety of capacities including teacher support, substitute teaching, and administrative support. Job Summary

A floater at SBSUM is expected to support teachers using classical teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals and affect student learning, to integrate Biblical principles and a Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum in the classroom, and to model a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ. Roles and Responsibilities

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to the following: Passion for learning and commitment to classical instruction. Assist with lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate classical learning. Flexibility to quickly and smoothly transition from one duty to another. Ability to work well with children of all ages. Follow established guidelines for interacting with students, parents, faculty and staff. Integrate biblical principles and the classical Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities as guided by the classroom teacher. Support faculty and staff in enforcing proper discipline in the classroom and on school premises. Support students and teachers, under the direction of the classroom teacher, through center set-up and facilitation, art project assistance, reading with individual or small groups of children, and in other student-centered activities. Assist with on campus tasks and activities related to family and student events. Assist with logistical needs such as carline, lunch, and recess. Substitute teach, as needed, both in the early childhood program and in PK4-12th grade classrooms. Assist teachers with weekly assignment prep for satellite classroom time supervised and instructed by parents at home. Participate in appropriate professional activities. Comply with all SBSUM, Second Baptist School and Second Baptist Church policies and procedures. Attend all required meetings/training such as parent conferences, faculty meetings, devotions, school functions and training, as well as other scheduled events. Supervise co-curricular activities, organizations, and outings as assigned. Other duties as assigned, including the possibility of teaching classes. Candidate Summary

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Knowledge and experience in early childhood/elementary education. A heart to provide exceptional customer service to all members of the community. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. The ability to demonstrate a strong track record of excellence in work habits. A collaborative and creative growth mindset. Proficiency in technology and strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. A responsible steward of the school's resources and a commitment to support the school's fundraising efforts as able. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required

To perform this job successfully, candidates must be willing and able to: Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Report to work on a regular and punctual basis. Lift up to 30 pounds at any given time. Kneel and climb. Stand/walk at least 50% of each workday. Perform other related work to accomplish the objectives of the school. Ideal candidates should have three or more years of related experience and/or hold a teacher certification from a state agency or school accreditation agency. Prior knowledge of Second Baptist Church and School are considered a plus.
