Chief Steward
manages the stewarding team, supervises dishwashing, maintains sanitation standards, manages inventory of cleaning supplies and kitchen equipment, and supports overall kitchen and food and beverage operations. The role is fast-paced and demanding, but you stay ahead by being efficient and anticipating your team's needs. Duties Lead and supervise a team of 25-30 dishwashers in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Oversee the training of new dishwashing staff, ensuring they understand the company's standards and procedures and provide guidance on best practices for washing, handling, and storing dishware and equipment. Assign duties and monitor performance to ensure all tasks are completed on time. Address any performance issues or conflicts within the team promptly and professionally. Communicate effectively with the front-of-house and kitchen teams regarding dish availability and cleanliness. Report any issues with inventory, equipment, or staff performance to upper management. Monitor dishwashing operations to reduce bottlenecks and ensure smooth service flow in a high-volume kitchen. Inspect safety protocols and maintain a pristine work environment. Advocate a safe workplace through complying with company policies, standards, employee relations, and adherence to state laws. Foster a cohesive and collaborative team environment through exemplary leadership. Exude professionalism and genuine warmth and care towards fellow partners, vendors, business associates, etc. Basic Qualifications 1-3+ years culinary experience (If you have high potential but less experience, we still want to meet you!). Must have or be able to obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler permits. Possess a passion for hospitality and a proven track record of creating world-class hospitality experiences. Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. Be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, and stretching; repetitive manual tasks; and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
