The University of Colorado, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, seeks a Hepatology Advanced Practice Provider at the Instructor level to join the hepatology team. Duties would include outpatient clinics, teaching duties, and performing large volume paracenteses. This Hepatology position would collaborate with the liver transplant program at the University of Colorado Hospital. Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) for this position will work directly with board certified transplant hepatologists in ongoing care of patients with a variety of liver disease including management of patients on the transplant waiting list. Clinics will be at the main campus as well as outreach clinics in the Denver metro area and the Front Range. Several opportunities for APPs to be involved in education of physician assistants and nurse practitioners students. Key responsibilities include: Independent clinical care of patients with a variety of liver disease including follow-up of laboratory testing and imaging in electronic medical record system (EPIC) Performance of large volume paracenteses Participation in weekly liver transplant selection, pathology and hepatobiliary conferences Assignment to a primary hepatologist and nurse navigator for clinical support Work location is onsite at the University of Colorado main campus in Aurora, Colorado, Lone Tree site in south Denver, and monthly clinics in the Colorado Front Range. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications: DNP preferred/MSN required from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure by a national professional organization Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Colorado. Ultimately licensure in New Mexico and Wyoming will be required Admission to the Advanced Practice Registry of the Colorado Board of Nursing Prescriptive authority required Prior experience as NP required BLS is required.
