In this role, you will lead complex land survey projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across disciplines to support high-impact work in transportation, land development, and environmental infrastructure. You will also help expand DEA's survey presence while advancing our commitment to quality, innovation, and client service. About the Role
As Survey Project Manager, you will manage a wide range of land survey projects from boundary and topography to ALTA and construction staking. You will provide clear direction to both field and office staff, perform quality control, lead technical deliverables, and maintain client relationships. This role requires a strong technical background and a desire to lead through collaboration, coaching, and accountability. DEA's Survey and Geomatics group operates as a revenue-generating business line and is equipped with cutting-edge tools including GPS, terrestrial and 3D laser scanning, and hydrographic systems. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, technology-forward environment with a variety of projects and room to grow. Key Responsibilities
Perform and review boundary analyses and topographic survey calculations Manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes Lead quality control of survey deliverables including plats, ALTA surveys, design mapping, and construction staking calculations Prepare proposals and collaborate with technical teams to define project approach Provide coaching, mentorship, and direction to field and office staff Coordinate with DEA's Geomatics Group and Delivery Leaders to align staff and project needs Ensure adherence to DEA's firmwide processes for contracting, project accounting, and quality standards Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring responsiveness and delivery excellence Participate in cross-discipline collaboration with engineers, planners, and other professionals What You Bring
Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) certification 8 or more years of experience in land surveying Experience managing projects and mentoring survey staff Strong client communication skills and attention to detail Proficiency in Civil 3D and experience reviewing engineering plans Preferred Qualifications
Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Oregon and Washington Familiarity with state and county mapping standards Experience with Trimble Business Center Why DEA?
