Data Center Technician - Cooling Specialist
We are seeking a Data Center Technician - Cooling Specialist to join our Data Center Operations team. This role is critical to maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our liquid cooling infrastructure that supports our high-performance AI computing platforms. You will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of direct liquid cooling systems that keep our GPU supercomputers running at optimal performance. Focus: Perform daily maintenance and monitoring of liquid cooling systems including leak detection through visual inspections and automated alert systems Execute weekly visual inspections of coolant systems for all TPU nodes to ensure system integrity and prevent failures Respond to cooling system incidents by performing node swaps or manifold replacements, and coordinate with vendors for complex repairs after safely shutting down affected racks Maintain and operate Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs) from major vendors including Vertiv, Motivair, CoolIT Systems, and Asetek Document all maintenance activities, system performance metrics, and incident reports to maintain compliance and improve system reliability About You: 2+ years of hands-on experience with data center cooling systems, preferably direct liquid cooling technology Strong understanding of cooling system components including manifolds, quick disconnects, coolant distribution, and leak detection systems Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems and work safely with liquid cooling infrastructure Experience working with CDU systems from vendors such as Vertiv, Motivair, or similar manufacturers Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify potential issues before they become critical failures Nice to haves: Certification in HVAC, mechanical systems, or related technical field Experience with high-density computing environments and GPU/TPU cooling requirements Knowledge of coolant chemistry and treatment procedures for closed-loop systems Familiarity with DCIM tools and monitoring systems for cooling infrastructure Experience in a 24/7 data center environment with on-call responsibilities Benefits: Competitive total compensation package (cash + equity).
