Electrician Position
Under general supervision constructs, installs, repairs and maintains light and power installations, electrical conduit systems, electrical portions of all machines and productions or physical equipment in the plant and portions of air condition or refrigeration equipment by working from schematics, prints, wiring diagrams, specifications, sketches and verbal instructions to provide necessary electrical services as required. 1st shift - 6:30PM - 3:00PM - Portsmouth, RI. This position is an onsite role. What you will do: Plans, lays out and wires electrical portions of work as required by new construction or plant layouts. Installs, repairs and maintains a variety of AC or DC equipment such as lights, generators, transformers, circuit breakers, motors, RF equipment, switches, ovens, welders, timers, electric and air automatic controls and security controls. Installs lighting and power circuits or electrical conduits by working from ladders, working from garret and fishing wires. Wires work stations and production benches by installing appropriate contacts, switches and circuit breakers. Installs and repairs machines and equipment by connecting to power sources, locating and diagnosing trouble in electrical system or equipment. Adjusting electric or automatic controls, rewinding coils, adjusting radar dishes, and wiring training room for television installations and cable voice returns. Assists supervision, as required in estimating time, labor and cost of materials for new projects. Notifies supervision of material required if not a stock item. Performs perimeter inspection of cabling and connections for shorts, bare wire, and other viable sources. Requires moving and handling of equipment, climbing or pulling wires to install. Erects cable trays as required. Performs general maintenance and housekeeping of workplace, tools and equipment. Maintains records, moves materials and follows safety rules in performance of duties. Performs other similar duties as required or directed. Machines, tools, and equipment used includes but not limited to: test benches, pipe benders, threading machines, hack saw, blow torches, power and hand drills, bench grinders, voltmeters, resistance bridges, bench drills, bench lathes, power saws, continuity meters, test sets, amp meters, ladders, scaffolding and other tools and equipment common to the trade. Qualifications you must have: Requires Rhode Island State Journeyman or Master Electrician License and knowledge of electrical codes. Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed electrician.
