Your impact Federal Buildings and Infrastructure team is looking for a leader to grow our Honolulu Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering practice and candidates may be from any of these building engineering disciplines. The Leader needs to be knowledgeable of engineering design and delivery practices and proactive in developing and driving implementation of innovative solutions for projects. This position reports to the Honolulu Federal Operations Leader and has leadership and supervisory responsibilities for the Federal MEP Engineering team in Hawaii. Group Management Responsibilities: Promotes BeyondZero and safety programs to create an incident- and injury-free culture. Responsible for project assignments, day to day management of assigned staff; holds staff accountable for delivery. Balance utilization across GCS levels to ensure staffing profitability. Develops workforce plans in coordination with stakeholders; acts as hiring manager for required staff, working in concert with others around established hiring plans; integrates new hires. Manages performance and helps talent grow and develop. Stewards career developmentbasic skill development and sustainment, growth opportunities and skill refinement. Coaches, develops, and mentors staff to deliver superior results collectively and individually. Coordinates across regions/Business Units/Lines of Business to optimize resource management and provide opportunities for staff and profitable growth. Communicates with aligned staff (i.e., regular team meetings and 1:1 meetings). Approves timesheets and expenses for aligned staff. Coordinates with other Federal Design Group Leaders nationally and internationally to identify opportunities and promote consistent project delivery. Coordinates with local office leads and BIA team. Responsible for all projects assigned to group: Ensuring adherence to quality review process Manage and leverage group's resources and capabilities on a consistent basis, meeting company goals and objectives for quality and billability. Estimate and execute project scope, schedule, and fee for projects. Developing project staffing plans and work forecasting Drive growth and continuous improvement within Operations. Bring creative solutions that press innovation into our projects from the onset of the project through the final delivery. Client engagement on technical issue as Jacobs's representative. Engineering Responsibilities: Responsible for delivering projects on time, within construction budget and agreed scope. Primary focus is design deliverables for design-bid-build projects (plans, specifications, design analysis), design-build RFP documents, studies, feasibility reports and other requirements for DoD projects. Leads team in the development of project documents by providing overall direction to the design team, coordination with external project stakeholders, internal team members and subcontractors, and management of project schedule to meet deliverable milestones and commitments. Responsible for project deliverables compliant with the Scope of Work and that satisfy project requirements. Functions as a team lead for projects including acting as the liaison to internal departments as needed. Assesses project requirements while developing and recommending a sound approach or application to meet the needs of the project and client. Facilitates the creation of communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders, and conducts status review meetings among project team members and clients. Responsible for initial development of the project scope, fee, and schedule proposal and coordination with discipline DOR for input as well as participates in fee negotiations. Responsible for the overall quality of the project documents and adherence with Jacobs Quality Program. Manages and enhances project quality by providing ideas and suggestions to the team aimed at improving the effectiveness of their role, and of the project activities in general. Determines, monitors and reviews internal costs, operational budgets, schedules and staffing requirements for project teams. Responsible for construction phase services as required by the Scope of Work. This typically includes services performed in office environment such as coordinating Jacobs' responses to RFIs, shop drawing reviews, construction modification documents and site assistance visits. The billability expectation for this position is 85% so performing services on projects will be essential to the role. Some travel to project sites outside of Hawaii should be expected. A hybrid (remote and in office) work mode should be anticipated as well with two (2) or more days in the office.
