Assists in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Follows patient identification procedures, provides appropriate information for all patient procedures, and collects and handles specimens. Assesses and implements prescribed interventions for the patient. Implements and documents discharge plan for each patient. Recognizes that ethical, legal, and medical dilemmas exist in the nursing practice and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical nursing decisions. Participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment. Assists with the care and maintenance of department equipment. Completes and accurately charts patient records. Maintains complete and accurate record keeping of equipment and quality measures. Collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of care across the continuum, providing timely, safe, and quality care. Is responsible for providing a safe, HIPAA compliant environment for the patient and the staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
