Machine Operator
$18.00/hour + $2.00/hour Shift Differential Days or Nights 6:45am
7:00pm or 6:45pm
7:00am (Rotating Schedule) We are looking for dependable and detail-oriented individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Apply to this Machine Operator role in Janesville, WI today! Machine Operator Responsibilities:
- Participate in hands-on training to understand the operation of high-speed thermoforming and extrusion equipment - Monitor machine operation and performance to ensure consistent product quality and minimize downtime - Identify and report unusual machine behavior or production issues to supervisors or maintenance team - Follow established procedures for machine startup, shutdown and product changeovers - Clean packing table with alcohol at the beginning of the shift - Pull apart plastic trays as they come from the machine - Pick up plastic food trays that are unloaded onto packing table and visually inspect each tray for defects or flaws before stacking - Read and interpret production work orders, including material requirements, job specifications and production quantities - Program scale to count number of trays - Use ignitor to light torch and wave torch around all sides of the plastic trays to eliminate fraying plastic - Place stacked trays into plastic bags and tie bags at end - Form boxes out of corrugated cardboard - Place plastic bags into cardboard boxes and stack on gaylords - Complete production logs and time study sheets - Operate pallet jack to move pallets Requirements for Machine Operator:
- High School Diploma or GED - Able to read, understand and follow written instructions - Basic math and data entry skills - Mechanically inclined with problem-solving skills - Able to lift up to 50lbs - Able to stand or walk for extended periods - Positive attitude and strong team player - Manufacturing experience is a plus
