Contract Support Specialist I-District 4/Director of Operations/District Construction/Fort Pierce Construction This position aids in the delivery of the state infrastructure improvement projects. The position is critical to the tracking and delivery of project documentation. The contract support specialist position plays a critical role in ensuring the agency's procurement and contracting processes are efficient, compliant and aligned with the organizational goals. Through cooperation, coordination and collaboration among the OneFDOT team, you will be contributing to a strong and empowering culture of TRREC: Trust, Relationships, Respect, Empowerment, and Communication. District 4/Treasure Coast Operations 3601 Oleander Avenue Fort Pierce, FL 34982 $48,037.57 - $62,166.27 Your specific responsibilities include: Performing advanced engineering work by receiving contract documents, supplemental agreements, and unilateral payment packages and checks for accuracy and completeness. Maintaining and monitoring Encumbrance Status Reports. Maintaining, updating and monitoring various construction databases. Receiving pay quantities in electronic format from Project Administrators, processing and tracking estimates. Providing support in planning task work orders for authorization of assignments on the district-wide consultant contracts. Issuing Notice to Proceed letters to contractors per Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) specifications. The successful candidate will have the following required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of the concepts, terminology, principles and analytical techniques of contract documents, supplemental agreements, work orders, pay quantities, and department specifications. Skills in using engineering tools, equipment, and/or instruments; the processing of construction related documents and contract administration documents; the use of a personal computer and department used software applications. Ability to analyze and interpret engineering data; solve problems relating to engineering; perform technical engineering inspections; apply engineering quantitative techniques; plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; communicate engineering information effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; instruct construction staff in project administration methods with the contract modification process. Licensure/Registration/Certification Requirements: This position requires certification in Final Estimates Level I and Level II through the Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP). Must obtain within six (6) months and maintain thereafter. Minimum Qualifications: A High School Diploma or its equivalent; 2 years' experience in a related field can substitute for the High School Diploma or Equivalent.
