Aircraft Worker
SA-TECH is currently hiring an Aircraft Worker to provide Aerial Target Operations and Maintenance Support to the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons, Advanced Technology Test Team Division. The primary duties of this position typically include (but are not limited to): Under direct and indirect supervision, conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on targets as well as performing basic troubleshooting using standard techniques. Also under supervision, perform target decontamination processes and procedures. Assist in organizational-level repair of engines or structures. Help maintain BQM-74, BQM-177 or BQM-34 aerial targets, which will include work/teardown on the target airframe and assisting with maintaining electronics and avionics equipment. Perform testing (under supervision) to ensure functionality in accordance with procedures defined in NAVAIR manuals using specified test equipment. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes and be technically and medically to do so. Perform and understand basic tool control and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Additional duties may include (but not be limited to): Handle and use associated ordnance, such as small CADS (pyro technic devices), RATO/JATO, and flares in support of target operations (and be qualified to do so). Work in a technical capacity as a team member on frequent trips to field activities and to vendor sites. Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions. Other assigned duties may include parachute packing, HAZMAT and more. Work Conditions: The working conditions will vary although most of the work will be accomplished in enclosed buildings. Work activities will include 45% standing, 25% walking, 20% sitting, 5% reaching, and 5% lifting. Must be capable of lifting 50-100 pounds assisted by other employees. Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions. Work Schedule: Currently 9/80 schedule (Mon - Thurs 9 hours, alternating Friday off, the other Friday work 8 hrs.) Overtime: Occasionally required. Travel: Required on routine basis but primary work location is NAWCWD Point Mugu Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical school training or specialized training in the appropriate field (desired). At least two (2+) years' experience in performing the stated functions. Experience in a military environment (E-3+) or on a military facility (preferred but not required). Understanding of Computer/Networking/MS Office. Works well with others as a member of a team. Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications & testing procedures. Possess mechanical-avionics background or engine experience. Familiarity with naval target maintenance (CNAF 4790) programs (desired). General knowledge of naval target maintenance practices to properly disassemble and reassemble several aerial target types (desired). Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment. U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment. All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
