Supplier Quality Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to manage supplier-specific requirements and provide technical support to suppliers. In this role as a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will ensure that products meet quality standards, minimize quality costs, and maximize customer satisfaction while ensuring compliance with procedures and processes. As a self-starter and problem solver, you'll be empowered to utilize your analytical skills to find innovative solutions to quality-related issues. Your strong communication skills are essential in collaborating and ensuring suppliers understand requirements and expectations. The role will involve: Evaluating the impact of nonconforming products and assessing suppliers' corrective actions Championing problem-solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances Performing source inspections of products at supplier locations Conducting process assessments at supplier locations Performing audits in accordance with ISO 9001 and BAE Special Process requirements Driving a "Zero Defect" mentality within the supply base Note about Location: This position may be supported 100% remote. It is ideal if based within a reasonable driving commute to a work site for monthly meetings in-person. A home base in Michigan or surrounding states is ideal. Required Education, Experience, & Skills: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, and/or Certified Weld Inspection (CWI) certification, and two years of related experience, or the overall equivalent Working knowledge of Quality System Requirements Knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T Knowledge of engineering codes and standards Problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action Motivated self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment Good planning, time management, and organization skills Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. Able to support travel of up to 50%. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills: Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt First Piece Inspection/Testing (AS9102) Process Failure and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans Oracle TipQA QMS Lead Auditor Certification ASQ Certifications (Auditor, Metrology, Quality Engineer, etc.) Part Production Approval Process (PPAP) experience Advanced Quality Product Planning (APQP) experience Pay Information: Full-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
