Job Classification: Business Operations, Student Department: Texas Collection Hiring Manager: Landa Jacobo Contact: landa_jacobo@baylor.edu Work Schedule: Minimum 10hrs per week between 8am and 5pm Desired Length of Employment: Fall/Ongoing Pay Rate: $10.00 Job Description: The Texas Collection and University Archives are looking for a student worker to assist with various projects related to archival collections, rare books, maps, or photographs. Under proper supervision, the student worker will be responsible for a range of tasks. Responsibilities include: inventorying, processing, and preserving archival and library collections and building finding aids. Working on special projects related to the manuscript, map, photo, and rare book collections. Monitoring researchers in the Guy B. Harrison, Jr. Reading Room and assisting patrons with scanning. Assisting with special projects and duties as assigned. Communicating with other Baylor Libraries student workers and participating in professional development activities like reading room desk training, Cuadra STAR, LOC, and DDS online trainings. Note: Ability to work with limited supervision and be able to show initiative and good decision-making within the assigned area. Must be a critical thinker, detailed oriented, an experienced user of Microsoft Word and Excel, and possess good research and writing skills. Must be able to lift boxes and other heavy materials. Compensation: Stipend of $10 per hour for undergraduate for up to 20 hours per week.
