KT-Barren County Thrift Store - Glasgow, KY Part Time with Benefits 20 or More $10.00 - $12.00 Hourly Store About This Opportunity
Schedule/Hours: 25 hours per week This position is responsible for: Drive Salvation Army trucks to scheduled route to pick up donations and deliver merchandise to customers; operates the truck in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and state driving regulations: lifts, carries, loads, and unloads a variety of donations, including furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.; ensures the safety, security, and accountability of the vehicle and contributions at all times; assists in performing work in the thrift store and warehouse. Additionally, assist in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area. Key Responsibilities: Confers regularly with the warehouse supervisor to maintain awareness of scheduled pick-ups of donations according to the established policy; ensures items are picked up. Receives, inspects, and sorts donated items such as clothes, shoes, household items, brick-a-brack, etc., according to category and condition; schedules and records donation pick-ups. Assist driver in lifting and stacking donations in the truck and unloading the truck at the warehouse. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) Ability to stand, walk, sit, and stand for extended periods and on a frequent change basis. Work requires driving a vehicle and working in a warehouse with exposure to the outdoors, where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat, or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. High School diploma or G.E.D. and experience working in a retail store preferred. AND One year of experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
