Ground Missile Defense Software Engineer
Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat. The work you'll get to do: Provide automation configuration with tools like Ansible to automate build and configuration processes Develop Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) process and tools, deployment strategies Build and deploy containers and containerization technologies Enable and lead Agile management and collaboration, leveraging tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitLab Learn new technologies and tools to enable rapid and secure, scalable capability Develop and maintain automation scripts in Python Lockheed Martin is a global aerospace, defense, and security company dedicated to advancing scientific discovery and harnessing innovation to make the world a safer place. Basic Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship with an Active Secret clearance Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 0 years of related experience Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security + CE) Experience working with cloud technologies and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Experience with Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products and services Communicates effectively, both internally and externally to team Eager to expand knowledge and continually improve Ability to write or review software code (Java, Python, etc.) Exposure to DevSecOps practices Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the time Desired Skills: Familiar with PaaS (Platform as a Service) infrastructure Familiar with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Familiar with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, and Nexus repositories Familiar with configuration management tools, i.e., Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, others.
