Maintenance Laborer, Full-time

The Maintenance Laborer responsibilities include mowing, landscaping, tree trimming, snow removal and other grounds keeping duties. In addition, you will work with the Maintenance team, the responsibilities include painting, lifting, vehicle maintenance/cleaning, daily paperwork, and other general maintenance work as requested and required. The Maintenance Helper is responsible, under the direct supervision of a Maintenance Worker, for assisting with installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing, electrical, air-conditioning and heating systems, furnishings, etc. Responsibilities

Maintaining site landscaping, includes maintaining lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, turf, and irrigation. Fertilizing lawn, trees, flowers, and shrubs, and spreading mulch. Trimming trees, hedges, and shrubs, and preventing and eliminating weeds. Operating and maintaining hand tools, such as loppers, saws, mowers, power tools, and shovels efficiently. Maintain grounds, including snow removal and shoveling. Keeping grounds free from trash, litter, and debris, and emptying trash receptacles. Complete any assigned tasks for the external cleaning and maintenance of any complex-owned grounds which includes lawn upkeep, gutter work, raking, etc. Complete general maintenance tasks. Assemble and move furniture. Assist in the ferrying of supplies or equipment in corporate vehicles when directed and trained to do so. Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools, apply varnish and other finishes. Removing fixtures such as doorknobs, light switch cover, and taping off areas as needed. Cleaning up supplies and replacing fixtures when project is complete. Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint, fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g., plaster), etc. Preparing the surrounding area by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent messes. Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces. Participates in regular in-service training and other quality assurance activities. Follow safety protocol and procedures. Assist with inspecting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC equipment, electrical systems, fans, pumps, boilers, coolers, and general equipment. Other related work as requested or required. Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent. 1+ year grounds keeping or related experience preferred. Valid Illinois driver's license, clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance is required. Proficient in using manual and power tools safely. Working knowledge of general maintenance skills in carpentry, electrical, mechanical, painting, boilers, plumbing, etc. is required. Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them. Ability to read, write, follow written, and oral instructions is required. Background and Drug Screen Disclaimer
