Townsen Memorial is hiring for a Full-Time Day Telemetry Technician for our Houston, TX location (77072). The Telemetry Technician is responsible for the continuous monitoring and interpretation of patients' ECG rhythms, identifying significant changes, and promptly communicating findings to the appropriate healthcare providers as defined by department procedures. In addition, the Telemetry Technician supports unit operations by performing clerical duties related to patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, maintaining electronic health records, and facilitating communication among patients, visitors, and staff. Essential Functions: Provide ongoing surveillance and accurate interpretation of ECG rhythms using a centralized monitoring system. Identify and escalate significant or life-threatening arrhythmias immediately, using appropriate ECG algorithms. Document rhythm interpretations according to established procedures and maintain accurate patient telemetry records. Troubleshoot telemetry equipment and ensure proper functioning of monitoring systems. Perform patient admissions, transfers, and discharges in the telemetry system, ensuring complete and accurate data entry. Maintain telemetry assignments for all monitors during shift transitions. Deliver high-quality service in alignment with hospital standards to enhance patient experience. Unit Clerk: Greet and assist patients and visitors, providing courteous and helpful service. Facilitate clear communication between healthcare team members, patients, and departments. Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and organization. Answer and direct phone calls appropriately, responding to inquiries efficiently. Provide general administrative support, including supply ordering and inventory management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Familiarity with medical terminology and computer systems. Proficient in ECG rhythm identification and use of telemetry monitoring systems. Strong multitasking and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and clinical staff. Ability to remain calm and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment. Accurate data entry and keyboarding skills. Team-oriented with a professional demeanor and strong customer service orientation. Proficient in telephone etiquette and clerical practices. Education and Experience: Completion of an accredited Cardiac Monitoring Technician program or equivalent coursework. Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) credential through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required within one (1) year of hire.
